East Midlands Conservation Programme – Nottingham Canal LNR

BCTV East Midlands intends to run a programme of practical conservation events at important wildlife sites across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. The work undertaken by BCTV volunteers who will contribute an estimated 112 workdays.
Abandoned for navigation in 1937, the canal corridor is one of the most important landscape and conservation areas in the country. The work will include hedgerow management, scrub management and reed control to maintain open water habitats and bring benefits for both biodiversity and public enjoyment of the Reserve site.
