East Tullos Burn Improvement Programme

The project will improve the environment of the East Tullos Burn. The existing burn is canalised and prone to flooding the adjacent paths. The profile of the burn will be reprofiled to allow some flooding without affecting the adjacent paths. Native trees will be planted along the course of the burn . Two reed beds will be created to improve the water quality of the burn and to provide a new wetland habitat. Access will be improved for the public. Volunteers will be involved in the planing of trees, wildflowers and the reed beds. School groups will also help as volunteers and the site will be used for educational visits once the project is complete.
