Eco-Refurbishment of ‘The Well’, Hawick

The Well’ is a two storey community hall owned by Hawick Baptist Church and available for use by the wider community. This is phase 2 of a three phase refurbishment (phase 1 provided disabled toilet facilities) to make the hall more comfortable for users whilst reducing its carbon footprint. It consists of: re-slating the roof, incorporating roof windows for natural light, replacing the first floor ceiling, additional loft insulation, double glazed windows and doors throughout, remedying stonework (re-pointing, etc), full re-wiring, installation of heating for 1st floor, run-back timers to all heaters, ventilation duct for kitchen.
