Ecology for All

Fenland Archaeological Trust is currently looking to develop the landscaped area known as Flag Fen to encourage biodiversity. This will include planting of native plants includign rare species, appropriate management of the existing trees, hedges and other planting to ensure its healthy survival. This will go hand in hand with encouragement of wildlife, thus ensuring the park is a high quality environmentto provide better facilities for the community to enjoy outdoor green space. The structures on site are in need of refurbishment. The ancient skills of thatching, hedgelaying and hurdlemaking will be required and will be taught to volunteers.
