Edging Towards a Better Park - Conway Park

The project is to create a 'planted edge' on the north side of Conway Park which will not only introduce some much-needed colour to the park but will also enhance biodivesity along the northern margin of the mown grass football pitches. The aim is for the planted margin to blend naturally into an ancient hedgerow and the wooded banks of the Sharoe Brook valley which forms the northern edge of Conway Park. The new planting will comprise native flowering species and will take the form of a planted ;ribbon' which will 'echo' the old hedgerow which existed here before the farmland was converted into a playing field in the 1960s.
