Education through Restoration (Amenity Improvements)

This project is an addition to 842916.002 completed December 2010.

This project will complement the first phase of a major restoration scheme at the Cefn Flight of Fourteen Locks, Heritage listing as an Ancient Monument by Cadw.

The project will:
Reinstate public footpath with stone & stone to dust surfaced access along side the locks and around the locks pond and pounds recreating a circular walking route.
Reinstate public picnic area including installing a public educational observation and pond dipping platform.
Repair public foot bridges and provide re-placement information boards and directional signs.
Members of the community are being engaged with the project through the basic skills and community task force employment scheme.
