Elderdale Community Centre – Internal and External Refurb

Essential improvements to the outdated Elderdale Community Centre to maintain and increase the level of community engagement in the building, specifically a new kitchen and storage. Works will include new kitchen units, joinery, electrics, small repairs, bin store, lighting, new internal door, door handles, shelving, flooring, stud wall, plastering, outdoor accessibility handrail, decorating, making good and waste removal. Apprentices will be used to undertake the work to provide a learning opportunity for new trades people and help reduce costs. Others will fund: new blinds, signage, furniture, display boards, art mural, orchard and sensory garden. The community has been consulted widely and is enthusiastic for the refurbishment. The Centre is seen as a lifeline to connect with others, learn new skills, create friendships, access support and undertake physical activity. It is hoped that members of the community who have disengaged from accessing community provision will return.
