Elizabeth Gaskell House, Manchester – Victorian Gardens

The garden at 84 Plymouth Grove was laid out with paths and lawns in the original Victorian style and pattern. This basic layout work was funded by the HLF, but further planting and features added by volunteers. The project will correct poor drainage, extend the vegetable plot and provide new tools
Improved land drainage underneath the lawn and proposed extension to the vegetable plot, with the addition of a new rustic pole fence and espaliered fruit trees. Addition of a new period style cold frame and purchase of hand tools for community use.
