Energising the Salisbury Avon

The project will restore the riverbanks in the centre of Salisbury. To enhance their habitat values for a variety of species, including water voles. It will install pre-vegetated coir rolls into the river, restricting the summer-flow, but not altering the winter flood level. This will speed up the water flow, improving the river for wildlife, and also provide banks for vegetation and burrowing animals such as the voles. Some willows will be pollarded to allow more light into the river
