Energy Generation and Conservation

The primary project aim is to reduce energy costs and obtain income from the Feed in Tariff scheme through the installation of a 9.8kWp array of solar photovoltaic (PV) cells on our large south-facing roof. Calculations indicate a combined first year income/saving of @ £2,000. This would give a payback period of 9 years, with the present FiT rate of 16.8p for a 9.8kWp system.

At the same time to carry out some energy efficiency improvements to reduce energy consumption, such as improved insulation around doors and windows, lagging of pipes and an energy awareness campaign with users.
