Energy Reduction and Environmental Improvement at WFCP

Waltham Forest College Pool is over 70 years old. Until recently it had been closed, allowed to fall into a state of disrepair and earmarked by the college for demolition. Tritons Swim School CIC has committed to return the pool to its former glory for use by the community, which do not have access to any other pools in the local area. This project, to refurbish the currently inadequate and highly inefficient air treatment system is urgently needed to significantly reduce the energy use and environmental impact associated with the running of the pool and to reduce humidity in the pool hall. In order to make this change as efficient as possible a pool cover will also be fitted in order to reduce humidity and improve reduce the intensity at which the air treatment system has to operate hence reaping maximum energy savings. Funds have already been secured from the Marathon trust to cover the remainder of the total project costs.
