Enhanced Facilities – Artificial 3G Surface

Four main objectives:
1) Reduce costs relating to winter training, currently paying in excess of £14,000 per year to local schools and council facilities
2) Integrate girls section and sustain/increase participation of girl’s football. Travel extensively for league games in Newbottle, Newcastle and train during winter away from the club.
3) Improve club’s carbon footprint. 29 teams travelling over 12,500 miles per annum throughout the Gateshead Borough for training in multiple vehicles, 50+ cars producing significant CO2 emission
4) Increase community participation. Open facilities for longer hours and more days, offer more local schools out of hours usage to support ongoing improving health policies.

The importance of getting children involved in physical activity from an early age is well documented. Aim to give the children a sense of purpose, learn social skills, educate them in the importance of teamwork, improve their overall health and fitness, keep them off the streets and out of trouble.
