Enhanced Facilities, Teesside Athletic Football Club, Redcar

This is a project to enhance the facilities at Teesside Athletic Football Club (TAFC) with a view to increasing attendance and participation at activities at the club. The project entails the provision of a steel canopy over standing spectator provision, increased seated covered spectator provision, a PA system, hardstanding/walkway, a café/snack bar, and emergency lighting. ECT is being approached to fund the Steel Canopy Standing Spectator Provision and the Seated Covered Spectator Provision. This is a project for TAFC community hub to engage the community and increase participation in healthy activities. Outcomes will be improved health and wellbeing as well as removing social isolation and improving facilities for the local community and beyond. Creating more spectator provision, snack bar, CCTV and a public address system with floodlighting can attract young people and families into this flagship facility. New spectator stands and shelter from the elements will encourage more people to watch sport events and bring along friends and family, not to mention, provide shelter and comfort for football matches, training and community events when the weather is a problem and can reduce attendance.

Environmental considerations: Solar power and energy efficient LED lights, effective insulation and planting around new structures with water collection devices for recycling water for ground maintenance.

Hard to reach considerations: Ethos of the project is about creating opportunities for those who are hard to reach with free activities and add healthy meal programmes. Fully inclusive programmes are dedicated to specific groups coupled with key partner work.
