Enhancement of Public Amenity in the QEII Woodland, Barrington

In 2013, the CEMEX Cement works at Barrington donated 3 acres of woodland to the parish council. The land is on the edge of the village and adjacent to the village school. By the work of volunteers with professional advice and assistance, it has been converted into a woodland park under the ‘Fields In Trust’ project. The park was opened in October 2013 and has since become a major village amenity.

The aims of this project are:
– To provide additional seating to meet the increasing number of visitors to the woodland
– To enhance the biodiversity and attractiveness of the woodland by the provision of additional nesting boxes
