Enhancement of the entrance and frontage of the community garden site

Since January 2010 when the land for our community garden project was fenced around by Fife Council, we have endured the sight of metal depot-style gate in the centre/entrance to our site which gives no indication of the quality and charm of the garden within. Our volunteers have contributed thousands of hours of their time and energy since then and our Co-ordinator has raised thousands in funds to equip, furnish and develop our garden and orchard project and we feel it is high time we had an attractive, appropriate entrance gate with arch to invite more of the public in and to do justice to the beauty of the cultivated landscape. A smart, waterproof timber-frame Noticeboard is also a must as we have events to announce and funders to acknowledge. The Hawthorn hedge would fill an unsightly 1-metre gap between the old stone boundary wall and the metal fence on the north perimeter which at present attracts only litter which is difficult to reach and clear up.
