Enhancing Biodiversity at RSPB Highnam Woods Reserve

“This project will complete a programme of habitat management to enhance 12 hectares of Lowland Mixed Deciduous Woodland (UK BAP habitat) and increase biodiversity on RSPB reserve Highnam Woods, in Gloucestershire. The project will restore some structural diversity through coppicing, improving rides and glades and removing non-native species. It will directly benefit 5 UK BAP species: Spotted Flycatcher, Beichstein bat, Barbastelle bat, Woodwhite and White Admiral. It will increase nesting and feeding opportunities for woodland specialist species nightingales. The works will be delivered by contractors.
