Enhancing Forest Habitats at Abernethy

We are seeking funding to plant 4000 native deciduous trees to enrich the forest landscape across targeted areas of our Abernethy nature reserve in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. This native woodland is a priority UK Biodiversity Action Plan(UKBAP) habitat and is home to 4800 animal species-20% of which are nationally rare. Planting native deciduous trees will help to enrich the pinewood habitat, enabling the expanding forest to become more robust, while increasing the biodiversity value, landscape quality and recreational value of the reserve
