Enhancing Irvine Greenspaces

The nine Scottish Wildlife Trust reserves which make up the Irvine Greenspaces are all within easy walking and cycling distance of where people live, giving the local community important access to high quality greenspace and a vital recreational resource close to home. The reserves are also used as an educational resource by local schools, encouraging the younger generation to appreciate and conserve the natural environment.

During 2013/14 the Scottish Wildlife Trust is implementing a programme of work to enhance these reserves, which will include:

– enhancement of footpaths and steps
– making safe of hazardous trees
– enhancement of wildlife viewing opportunities
