Enhancing Kinnordy’s Wetland Habitats for Breeding Waders

“We are seeking funding to enhance c90 of unique UKBAP swamp/fen and scrub habitat at Loch of Kinnordy, improving conditions for increased breeding bird assemblage including wildfowl and waders. Through clearing outflow, cutting aquatic emerging vegetation and installing boardwalk, we will control water levels and enhance biodiversity on this multiple designated wetland habitat.
This work is linked to restoration of Eutrophic Standing Waters and Upland Flushes, Fens and Swamps, both UKBAP habitats. These improvements will enhance conditions for grasshopper warbler, water vole and otter (all UKBAP species) and will increase support for UKBAP bird species including curlew and lapwing.”
