Enhancing Thimblemill Brook

This is a project to carry out landscaping works to improve the appearance, accessibility and wildlife value of the three sections of Thimblemill Brook in Smethwick. The works will include carrying out habitat improvements, including woodland management and improvement of a pool and the water course. It will also incorporate the treatment of Japanese Knotweed and Balsam, which are very dominant in a number of areas and are preventing the growth of native plants as well as use by local schools and others. This linear park is designated as a Site of Local Interest for Nature Conservation (SLINC).
