Ensuring the Environmental and Economic Sustainability of the Retreat

In order to decrease the carbon footprint of the Retreat and increase its sustainability the project seeks to improve the productivity of the existing heat pump together with the istallation of Solar Thermal panels. The retreat is used for a number of social events throughout the year and also holds a valuable historic record of life in the Glens. This project will help ensure that the retreat can remain as an important social place in Glen Esk by helping offset its high running costs. The increased efficiency of the heating system will also allow events to be held over the winter months, out with the tourist season.
