Entrance and Exterior Improvements

The aim of the project is to improve the security and visibility of The Old Vic, by replacing the entrance doors of the theatre and enhancing the exterior appearance and signage of the building, in line with security recommendations from the Metropolitan Police. We will make the building more secure and energy efficient, and we believe that increased visibility of the interior will draw more visitors to experience our high-quality programme, and help to keep them safe. Undertaking maintenance of our Grade II* listed building will also protect it against deterioration as it enters its 200th year.
