Ernle Gilbert Hedge and Pond Restoration

This project will involve the laying of a hedgerow on our Ernle Gilbert Nature Reserve in the traditional manner and protecting it from grazing livestock with a new stock fence. Volunteers will carry out the hedge laying, receiving training as they do so from our experienced Reserve Officer and contractors will install a new fence alongside it. We will also work to restore a small pond on the nature reserve to clear vegetation and silt to allow more light in to benefit plants and invertebrates.
