Essential Capital Work at Nash’s Meadows

We are fortunate to have been gifted Nash’s Meadows, a 12 hectare grassland in a priority area, the Malvern Chase Living Landscape. The site requires some restoration involving green hay strewing, using seed from other nearby SSSI meadows. Nash’s Meadows lies close to several of our small grassland sites and presents a wonderful opportunity to strengthen connectivity within an important network of MG5 meadows. Before we can begin to restore the site, we need to implement a programme of capital work, including fencing repairs and the installation of water supply for troughs. This work is essential as it will enable us to begin a traditional hay meadow management programme which, in conjunction with the green hay strewing, will lead to the improvement in the biodiversity value of the meadow.
