Everyman Theatre Restoration and Community Development Project

The Everyman Theatre is in need of restoration after years of low investment. It is nearly 30 years since any major restoration work was undertaken. The Everyman will restore its historic Grade II Listed Victorian Theatre, which is nationally significant as the earliest remaining example in existence of the work of the prolific Victorian theatre architect Frank Matcham. The project will reintroduce elements lost over the years through unsympathetic refurbishment schemes, particularly fibrous plaster, painting, drapes and murals and introduce new lighting and seating sympathetic to Matcham’s original designs. We will also upgrade our public areas and deliver a new three year community arts programme to celebrate the restoration.
