Exeter Community Centre – Community Rooms

To refurbish mothballed rooms on the Community Centre’s top floor into community uses as quality, affordable community meeting/activity rooms for pubic use. The refurbishment will be in keeping with the building’s listed heritage, improve the centre’s financial viability & support community activity
To refurbish two, currently derelict, rooms. Including: constructing walls & cupboards; address the varying floor height from the (already installed) lift; create circulation space; install insulation and lighting (variable LEDs) & decoration.
Community bookings continues to rise, up 22% since 2016. In 2018: 3,431 community bookings. This project will mean that they have more space & can better cater for noisy activities (eg singing) away from quieter activity (eg language learning). Restoring these rooms will also address structure & fabric deficiencies of top floor
