Exhibition Building and Mountsorrel Railway Museum

The Mountsorrel and Rothley Community Heritage Centre’s aim is to create and develop a new tourism and educational resource on the eastern side of the proposed Charnwood Forest Regional Park. This project is for Phase 2 of the development of the site – the exhibition building and the Mountsorrel Railway Museum. The exhibition building will provide important additional space to tell of the story of the geology of the Charnwood Forest and its quarrying history. The Mountsorrel Railway Museum space will link to the restored Mountsorrel railway line and it will allow railway vehicles with an historical connection to the Mountsorrel Railway to be displayed to the public under cover.
