External Landscaping at Entrance to Fishing Heritage Centre

The project is to create a new landscaped public amenities area at the entrance to the Fishing Heritage Centre. This will be achieved by replacing and extending the present area of slabs and path with ‘heritage paving slabs’ and cobbled borders.

The new paving slabs and cobbled borders will be provided throughout the total length of the Heritage Centre building and outward to the edge of the present car park. The amenities area will feature information displays and artefacts from past fishing times (rope coiler and boats anchors). Two information boards fixed above stone bases will inform visitors as to Buckie’s fishing heydays and also provide details of when visitors may visit the Heritage Centre. The present trees will also be included and emphasised as features within the new land scraped area.

These works will provide an attractive entrance, improved access for disabled to the Heritage Centre whilst also creating an attractive amenities area for visitors within the central Buckie area.
