Fairy Glen Community Access Project

The project takes place on RSPB’s Fairy Glen Nature Reserve, an attractive broadleaved woodland that attracts around 20,000 visitors each year. Heavy storms destroyed the old bridge that linked the reserve with a six-mile local trail. This project will provide the necessary materials required by the army engineers – who are providing their services as a ‘gift-in-kind’ – to build a new bridge and open up the reserve and provide wider access to the local path network.
