Falls of Clyde Wildife Cameras

This project will install wildlife cameras in the spectacular gorge of the Falls of Clyde Wildlife Reserve. These cameras will be connected to SWT’s newly refurbished Visitor Centre, within New Lanark, a World Heritage site. 3 cameras will be installed focussing upon:

(i) a Peregrine Falcons’ nest (helping to safeguard a pair of rare birds which have nested here for 10 years).

(ii) the dramatic Falls, where Dippers, Herons and other birds are frequently seen.

(iii) a Badger sett.

All images will be relayed to SWT’s Visitor Centre. This will provide a ‘virtual visit’ for those unable to negotiate the steep 2km path to the Falls and nest site (especially younger, older and disabled visitors); and should encourage the more able-bodied to venture out onto the reserve.
