Family Wildlife Ponds at Yeadon Tarn

This project is at Tarnfield Park that encompasses Yeadon Tarn on the edge of Yeadon in Leeds. The project will create a small wetland area to provide habitat for wildlife, some of which is listed in biodiversity action plans, and will be in a well used and accessible location so the wildlife can be appreciated by the general public. This will be achieved by improving the depth of water in a small stream and creating three small ponds. Two benches and interpretation boards will be provided to encourage visitors to look for wetland life and to understand the feature. The project will be undertaken by the midweek volunteer group of The Conservation Volunteers that engages many disadvantaged unemployed people.
