Faversham Pools – Heating

Faversham Swimming Pools is applying for support towards the installation of a new energy-saving boiler and heating system. This would enable them to increase their energy efficiency and reduce their CO2 emissions, while the charity would also benefit from a considerable saving in utilities expenditure.
The total cost of the full installation is £170,160. They are asking Viridor Credits for a grant of £48,300 which would enable them to purchase the new boilers and controls.
The current heating system is over 20 years old and the model is now obsolete. They have a long-term refurbishment plan but without strong infrastructure and mitigating the risks of plant failure their long-term stability and ability to provide affordable exercise facilities to Kent could be under threat.They have an indoor and outdoor pool which would both be heated by the new boilers.
