Feering Community Centre – Reduce Carbon Footprint, Feering Parish Council, Colchester

This is a project to purchase and install 15KW of battery storage to connect to the solar panel system. Feering Community Centre is a single storey building with a tiled pitched roof that was built in 1987. The project will significantly improve the renewable energy usage of the centre by installing batteries to store energy generated by the on-site solar PV panels. The stored energy can then be used instead of grid energy for events at the centre in the evenings. This will enable costs to be kept down and so hiring charges for local community activities can be maintained at an affordable level.
