Fern Gore Community Wildlife Area

The proposed project will transform a disused lodge site in the centre of an ex-council estate in the Northwest at Accrington, Lancashire. The project’s aim is to create a facility that is safe and secure and caters not only for the needs of its users but also provides and improves a diversity of habitats and increases local biodiversity. The project will regrade the banks, install a dipping platform on the largest lodge suitable for educational use, secure the site with a perimeter fence, install disabled access pathways and trails within the site, manage some of the existing habitats and promote new ones.
