Fernieside Community Garden

This project will improve a greenspace in a disadvantaged area, providing opportunities for local involvement. As a former walled garden, this site has the potential to be used as a community garden and we will involve the local community as widely as possible. The project will include: • the clearance of the site, removing the fenced area surrounding the old bowling green; • planting a new orchard in the site, possibly using the existing walls for espaliered trees, if this is maintainable within the site • ground enrichment work • raised beds for herbs & shrub/perennial planting
