Durham County Council’s Countryside Service would like to proactively manage this wetland site and raise its conservation value.Our proposal is intended to compliment and add further value to that proposed by the Durham Biodiversity Partnership. Whilst Durham Biodivesity Partnership’s project aims to create open wetland areas Ferryhill Carrs Enhancement’s objective is to install stock fencing and access gates enabling the site to be managed through conservation grazing and practical works.Funding is needed to:Purchase infrastructure materials such as fencing and gates to create grazing compartments within the site.To instruct a fencing contractor.To enable gorse removal on difficult areas allowing fence lines to be installed.To purchase grazing units from the Flexigraze scheme
