Ffarm Moelyci – Community Environmental Farm

A major open space for North Wales Moelyci is a150ha farm 3 miles from Bangor taken into trust (2003) to protect its environment & as a public amenity. Now moribund we are reinvigorating it as a 100% public space focused on environmental improvement and public enjoyment.

It has great potential including Moelyci Mountain (SSSI heath), market garden, composting site, half-finished education centre, allotments & acres of open space capable of absorbing hundreds of people on a daily basis. On the edge of Tregarth village, close to Bethesda, on junction of A5/A55, adjacent tourist roads into Snowdonia & bordering a national cycle route it’s ideally placed for thousands of locals & visitors.

Cwm Harry is committing £145k to a café/shop in the market garden and a teaching kitchen to complete the education centre. LCF monies would be for costs of improving the public infrastructure, community engagement and development of education & interpretation resulting in open space & rich wildlife, enjoyed by thousands.
