Fit Out of Community Building

A limited programme of daily community activity takes place at our church, but is severely limited by the uncomfortable arrangement that every meeting space, apart from the church itself, functions as a corridor to another space. Growing engagement with local people and determination to contribute to building a thriving local community has led the church to new plans for the future which involved rebuilding the east end of the church to provide new toilets, a kitchen and five, variously-sized activity spaces. This will increase the numbers using the building for community activities by 50% from 10,000 to 15,000 per annum. The new extension has now been built but in order to reduce costs, the church decided to complete much of the internal fit out ourselves including installing the kitchen, laying carpet, landscaping the site and building cupboards. The fit out phase is this project.
