Flamborough: Hides, Habitat and Headland Trail

Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast is renowned for its wildlife and tourism value. Positive engagement with the local community and visitors alike (through seashore, cliff & reserve walks, wildlife watching, sea views, and other coastal uses) is being catalysed through the creation of a single, coherent clifftop amenity, ‘The Storyboard Trail’. The initial HLF phase of the project provided £41,500 for 29 green numbered posts leading between 9 bespoke interpretation boards: seabirds, geology, fishing, farming & wildlife, migration, lighthouse & shipping, marine wildlife, history, and archaeology (with associated podcasts, video clips, Trail guide etc). This second LCF phase will raise the ambition in design terms by providing hides, landscaping and habitat improvements alongside continued volunteer involvement (facilitated by Flamborough Bird Observatory) to further widen appreciation and participation in the stunning natural vistas and cultural heritage of the Storyboard Trail.
