Flashes and Scrapes at Aldercar

This project will rejuvenate Aldercar Flash, increasing its biodiversity and wildlife value by carrying out habitat management work. This work includes:
Creating an enclosure for grazing cattle through fencing and hedgeworks.
Tree work will remove willow scrub, reducing encroachment and improving diversity.
Increasing scrape areas will increase the amount of open water for wading birds. Clearance will help reduce encroachment.
Reed management will prevent scrapes from drying out and will help to provide seasonal open waters for wildlife.
