Fleckney Cricket Strip Project

The project involves enhancing the community sport and recreation facilities by installing a 30m x just less than 3m ECB Approved non-turf cricket pitch laid onto an additional 50mm graded stone foundation and surfaced with NG12 premium cricket carpet. This has become in recent years an essential facility for clubs and will help develop the youth cricket within Fleckney and also allow other non club users to use the strip without worry of wear and tear. This will then be maintained by the local Fleckney Village Cricket Club on a voluntary basis. In 2008 a scheme called ‘Chance to Shine’ was set up to which mainly schools and 11 cricket clubs up and down the country were given artifical strips, unfortunatly this area was not one and the nearest would be Loughborough University, therefore this would be something unique to this area.
