FloodPlain Restoration

Sansdwell MBC have recently established a Floodplain Restoration Project. Whose aims include the creation of habitat suitable for breeding waders. Working with Natural England, Sandwell MBC need to stock-proof the meadow to enable grazing animals to help the right for waders. The Floodplain is over14 hectares which involves a significant amount of fencing and field gates.A boundary hedge needs flailing,as does a great of rank vegatation ,in advance of the fencing being erected.Further work is required on a island at Forge Mill Lake to support breeding waders amd compliment the adjacent RSPB Reserve. A great deal of woodland management is required across the Country Park
