Footpath and Site Furniture Improvements – Burrs Country Park

We would improve the length of footpaths, seating and bins that have deteriorated and become a concern to visitors and are therefore a high priority. Numbers of visitors coming to Burrs is increasing and improvements and additions are urgently needed. A priority is to ensure the park is safe and accessible to everyone of every ability. We want all visitors – the strongest of runners through to elderly residents, children or those with mobility issues – to be able to get around easily & safely.

The project is a simple one. Through recent consultation it has been highlighted by the community and users of the country park that footpath improvements and additional seating and bins are priority. With that in mind Bury Council have made available and therefore secured £85,000 towards a £134,889 total scheme. The monies (if awarded) would go entirely on over 1480m of footpaths and seating and other site furniture
