Formonthills Community Woodland

Stimulate new and repeated visits to Formonthills and creating a more welcoming feel for visitors by upgrading entrances and signage, managing paths and glades.
Improve landscape diversity, biodiversity and aid in the long term management of the urban fringe woodlands at Formonthills by targeting conifer areas causing neighbour issues.
Ensure sustainability of woodland cover in the mature woodlands that fringe the site by thinning to improve stability, released under storey broadleaves and improve biodiversity.
Create a pleasant open woodland aspect in which visitors feel secure, and which benefits biodiversity.
Engage the lcoal community and school children through the work we are undertaking by a number of planting/woodland discovery events.
