The project involves the completion of the restoration of Belvedere Battery an imprtant component of Fort Amherst Chatham, which is one of the most important surviving fortifications in the UK. The work to be undertaken includes brickwork repair and replacing and sealing of the main magazine roof by laying recycled York Stone and also furnishing six in number gun ambrasures with recovered York Stone. Provision of 7 iron carriages on which to mount canon donated by the Rotunda Woolwhich. The excavation of the last section of filled in ditch to the battery and installing a section of donated historic bailey bridge to take the roadway over the ditch. Complete carpentry work to guardhose for use as a community meeting room. Includes manufacture of 5 window frames and shutters, 3 doors and frames, completion work to wooden floor, small flight of steps for internal access.
