Foxhill Bank Biodiversity Project

The aim is to improve the biodiversity of this well used nature reserve on the site of a former mill. It is planned to implement a range of management works that will include:

Development of new reed beds to help improve water quality in main lodge.

Installation of kingfisher nesting sites.

Control of Japanese Knotwood and Himalayan Balsam.

Meadow management using scythes – includes for volunteer training.

Construction and installation of bat and bird boxes.

Initiation of a hedge laying programme – includes for volunteer training.

Development of improved wildflower areas.

Woodland management of areas of bread leaved plantation.

Monitoring and recording of species with an emphasis on invertebrates.

Update management plan and enter on to Countryside Management System.
