Foxhill Bank Nature Reserve Accessibility Improvements

Foxhil Bank was created in 1989-1990 and people have full public access.
The infrastructure was installed at the same time. Consequently, there are features that need improving to enable visitors to feel safe, enjoy and access the route on reserve from Mill Hill entrance to the platform. Those features are:
1. Improve handrail on footbridge
2. Rebuild handrails and steps at the main lodge platform to
make them safer for visitor and enable people who have difficulty walking
to lean on the rail, and wheelchair users can use rail to brake against
that wheel chair users can lock against the rail and watch the birds on the Main
Lodge.
3. blocking the inflow to the main lodge - Blocking the inflow will
prevent the platform being underwater all year
and allow visitors to use the platform.
4. stone to improve path drainage - volunteer work parties will replace the stone in
a drainage ditch. They have already dug out the ditch ready for the stone. This will
improve drainage for the main path from Mill Hill entrance.
5. trees/plants for visitors to enjoy - trees and plants will be planted to improve
the aesthetics of the site and bring colour to the reserves.
