Foxholes Plantation Restoration

Foxholes is a 29 hectare area of heathland and former conifer plantation which has not been effectively managed for many years and has suffered from neglect. The ground flora is generally species-poor and there is a lot of bare ground under stands of mature beech. Bracken and brambles dominate open areas of heath. We would like to restore Foxholes to its former glory as an area of upland oak woodland and heathland by selectively removing some of the more invasive species and encouraging the regeneration and spread of native species of trees and heathland plants, attracting back into Foxholes a wider diversity of wildlife.
