Friends of Hatherley Park – ‘Please Fence Me In’

The Friends of Hatherley Park wish to improve a key area of the well used Hatherley Park. The wildlife pond was completed in 2005. It took several years to become well established as dogs would chase through it. There is temporary stock fencing around the kidney bowl shaped pond and irregular shaped adjoining growing area. Greater crested newts have made their home here and we want to encourage more mini-beasts and greater biodiversity by creating an undisturbed habitat for them. Local school children will select animal designs for the fence posts. The fence will be a permanent, robust and maintenance free structure.
