Getting Closer to Nature at Greenwich

This project will create a pond dipping pavilion, incorporating a platform and outdoor classroom facility (including wildlife and habitat interpretation, bug hotels, bee boxes and hibernaculum) at Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park. This will provide a flexible space in the middle of the park for the local community, volunteers and local school children to participate in a range of learning opportunities and general community activities in order to learn about the importance of green spaces and the wildlife they support. It will be built to be as energy efficient,self-sufficient and carbon neutral as possible and the design will be sensitive to the surrounding environment. The Conservation Volunteers, the Land Trust’s managing partners on site, will manage the facility and deliver all activities.
